Ipeco selects CIBER’s mySAP All-in-One solution for Aerospace & Defence26 August 2005 — Ipeco is a group of specialised engineering businesses. The core activities are the manufacture of flight deck and cabin interior equipment for the aircraft market, and power management products and machined components for the defence, electronics and engineering industries. Ipeco, based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, UK, embarked upon a replacement ERP system opting for mySAP All-in-One for Aerospace & Defence, from CIBER UK. Ipeco will implement a 200 user system across their manufacturing sites in the UK and USA in Phase 1. The system will be deployed throughout the enterprise in Finance, Commercial, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Projects and Engineering, together with sophisticated Business Intelligence Tools. The objective of the replacement ERP project will be to implement a modern ERP solution across the group by adopting standard ‘best practice’ processes in order to maintain their competitiveness. The single integrated system will improve control, visibility and provide consistent management information across the organisation. Ipeco required a system that addressed similar core functionality offered by their earlier ERP system, in addition to the latest manufacturing processes and integrated Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). Another key requirement was a system that would reflect expertise and process considerations in the aerospace vertical, including repair & overhaul, customisation, assembly and manufacturing. Ipeco commented “We needed a scaleable solution that would support our business now and into the future. To do this we needed to invest in a supplier with industry expertise, whose product did not limit the business choices and a solution that provided the level of functional coverage to meet our requirements.” Ipeco continued “We felt that from a long term perspective our current ManMan system was no longer capable of supporting our business model. Also, our hardware platform would not see continuing development, forcing us to migrate in the near future, so we took the opportunity to review our requirements and conducted a detailed scoping exercise of today’s ERP applications.” Ipeco sums up “We were impressed by CIBER’s proven referenceability in the aerospace and defence sector and their rapid approach to system delivery.
