One NorthEast invests in major new
IT partnership with Sage and Ascent Technology
1st January 2003 - One NorthEast, the North East Regional Development
Agency, has invested in a new financial solution to provide highly
efficient control and management of their financial functions across
all of its economic and regeneration programmes as well as its own
administration.
The system will be provided by leading Sage partner, Ascent Technology,
and comprises use of Sage Line 500 financial software and of Ascent
Workflow Management.
Sage Line 500 will provide financial management and detailed project
costing whilst Ascent Workflow will integrate with Sage to provide
highly efficient management of purchase order requisition, authorisation
and payment processing. Thereby positioning the Agency in the forefront
of e-procurement in the region and well placed to meet the needs of
the Region for the next decade.
Malcolm Page, Director of Finance, One NorthEast explains. “The
Agency is involved in a diverse range of programmes and initiatives
throughout the region. We are running between 5000 and 10000 individual
projects and account for some 60,000 sales ledger transactions and
40,000 purchase orders annually. These new systems will improve efficiency
and speed workflow throughout the Agency, benefiting both programmes
and our own administration.”
